The Washington Monument is the highest structure on D.C. 555ft. It was built to honor United States first president George Washington. This structure isn’t just the tallest structure on D.C. to it’s at the center of The Washington Mall also known as the National Mall.

The purpose of this structure is to honor United States first President George Washington, best known as the “Father of his country”, who fights in the independence as general. In this building American people can remember the great effort the Washington did during the independence to become and in depended country. The U.S. honor him not only for been the first president of this country, and for what he did during the independence, they honor him for that and for what he did during the time he was president of the U.S. that continues to present after all the year it had pass

The Washington Monument was made up of marble, and a strange metal for the top that was given the form of a cone. The style of this amazing structure is of ancient Egypt’s well known for the name of an Obelisk. It isn’t really known why was it built this way, but the design of the monument was of Robert Mills. The structure was started in July 4, 1848 and ended 1878 after the construction was stop for some years. The only challenge that they have to build the Washington Monument was the money, but after some years they continue with the structure. In contrast with the rest of the monuments this is the tallest of all, but the others I think they are more creative than this one. The monument was order by President James K. Polk. The design and plan for this structure as I have already said was an idea of Robert Mills. The Washington Monument was paid by the Washington National Monument Society.

This structure honor President George Washington U.S. first president. George Washington is honor and remember for leading the U.S. army to the victory during America Independence against Great Brittan, for been U.S. first president and for what he did for the country while he was alive.

In my opinion the Washington Monument haves many things that call people attention, but for me it was how tall the building was, and that it was standing by itself without any metallic structure sustaining it. During my visit to the Washington Monument I learn lots of new things but the ones that call my attention the most was that it was standing without any metallic structure help and that at the top there is a metal cone that have an engraving referring to God. One of the few things I did know about the Washington monument was that it was dedicated to United States first president George Washington. I was surprise during my visit of the view of Washington D.C. City and how you can admire the rest of the monuments and memorials in the Washington Mall and near it. When we arrive to the monument I was really excited of what we would see inside, and what new things I would learn about this place, it was really a honor to see the monument and to go inside and appreciate the view from the top. I think that this monument was a great idea not only to honor George Washington but to build it at the center of the Washington Mall. I think this monument has a great function that it’s to honor President Washington, and the magnificent view you have from the top of the building. To in my opinion the pictures, quotes and information its arrange in a very elegant way that make it really interesting for the people who go to read it and learn more about this Monument.
